The last in the series of three .Other techniques may be added on as needed .Be gentle, not too much pinching more rolling the skin in your fingers. Start at lower spine and walk your fingers up towards the neck while dragging your thumbs on either side of the spine about an inch over . Repeat 6 x if they  allow . Always  going from lower to upper spine . Remember to breath deeply and calmly  through your nose while doing any of these techniques . 
Best to do the Tui Na   5 min 2x a day . Total for all three 

 Nie-fa (Pinching)









Nie-fa (Pinching) is performed by pinching and squeezing the skin gently with the fingers, rolling the skin as you move upward from lower back to the neck. . Nie-fa is most often used on either side of the spine about an inch or half an inch over depending on the size of the animal. You  walk your fingers forward while dragging the thumbs.  It may also  be applied  around any areas of adhesion and stagnation where the  tissue feels tight. It is on the back from the tail to the neck for patients with back pain or disc disease or stagnation in the body.

Key points for the practitioner:

  1. Use the index and middle fingers of the opposing thumb, first pinch the skin and then gently roll the skin while dragging the thumbs along either side of the spine toward the neck. This movement can be repeated six times.

  2.  The pressure applied should be equally on both sides  and the movement should be smooth. Remember to breath slowly, deeply and calmly while doing the techniques through your nose. Be in your happy place, it is much  better for healing as they can sense our energy or moods.

Technique actions:

Invigorates the Blood and Qi, regulates the spleen and the stomach.

Clinical applications:

  1. This technique is good for superficial tissues. Head, nape and the neck, limbs, spine and back where there is tightness .

  2. Numbness in the limbs, decreased proprioception in hind limbs and distention in the abdomen.

  3. Nei Fa is also used to treat the digestive system, unstable blood pressure and insomnia and restlessness as well as some acute and chronic diseases.
